Photographer’s Note

Another snap from the secondary stage of the Bali Arts Festival, very crowded with locals, not tourists, oddly enough. This was a Ramayana dance with classical Gamelan accompaniment.

Even though she had beads of sweat above her lip, I think her make-up was holding nicely.

Very good centring which catches in a close-up the face and the characteristic position of the hand in the Ramayana dance. Definitely, Caleb, I like your portraits.

maybe the light was a bit hard or close by.

marvelous and rich pix, Scaleb. i really like to see that these dancers are no etheral figures but human beings with flesh...and sweat.

I see what you mean by cropping close ot the head (in my pix today). Caleb the cropmaster.... Works great here, definitely a favorite for me! Thanks

Excellent colors and details here. A very good closeup portrait of this graceful dancer. You got really close to the action here. Commendable that you can see the small details like the beads of sweat on her face here. Intense stuff!
