Photographer’s Note

Another one from the Pesta Bali. Couldn't help but focus on the whites, not the catchlights. One very important aspect of Balinese Hindu dancing is the eye motion. It's really captivating.

What I really like about this one was the clarity of the Canon IS lens, handheld, with those blood vessels in her eyes still clear. I was right under the stage, just a few Bule there...

I can tell that these eyes get some attention!
They are almost too powerfull here ;)
I think a different format (landscape) could give more dynamics and air in the direction of her eyes...

Wow, very, very sharp; her make up artist might not thank you for that one, it shows how it was too liberally applied. I wish the eyes were towards you more and I also wish that whatever is in the bottom right (another dancer's costume?) wasn't there. Good shot overall.

No doubt about quality. Yours, at first, and the Canon lens.
Looked to it, look to others, came back to this one several time. Like it, but there was something...
After a while saved it, and start to "play" with.

What do you think about a tighter cropping?
Made a WS.
NOT to improve, just an idea... let me know what do you think

Impressive sharpness too ! We can see pores in her skins, and veins in her eyes.

I wonder what she was looking at ...?

Such clarity in this pic...I like the compo with that red design on the bottom right. Did you use flash on this one?

wow the sharpness in here is just incredible;-) and a very thick make-up i can tell;-)) lol
the eyes are a bit too strong for me in here... especially that she is looking elsewhere and we lose the overall vision of her eyes...

The clarity in this image is wonderful. I think you captured the feeling accurately of the dramatic eye movement in this style of dance. In addition, the colors and composition is great.
