Photographer’s Note
I took this picture at the Art festival, there is a really old nostalgic fairground at the back of it and I saw this kid and I didnt know why he was sad, or had a sad look on his face....so I asked the mother somehow if I could take a picture of her son and she said Yes.....well she nodded her head, so I was pulling these funny faces at this kid in a nice way but I couldnt get the kid to smile or even remotely laugh, so I took his picture because he was just an angel.
The ride behind was of cars which go round and round and I dont think it was safe at all. He was behind the bars with the mother.
I hope you like the shot

I like it very much and your note is really good, strange to have a kid looking this concerned even though you tried to make him cheer up. However I think his sad face makes this exellent. I think there are a few minor adjustments that would make it even better - did a workshop, hope it's OK ;o)

Maybe this kid will be a photographer when he grows up? A bit blue magenta on my monitor, but that's only a very minor point. Great portait, Daniel.

Actually, Dan, I think the fact that the little guy is not smiling but rather giving you this underwhelmed look is exactly one point that makes this portrait interesting. Another point is the fact of him standing behind those bars and the way in which he's holding on to one of them. Nice portrait and again fun storytelling in your note.

Great shot Dan and the expression must be because there was something he didn't get - that at the time was very, very important to have. Very good capture..
