Another dawn Photo

Photographer’s Note

A fine mist shrouds Lake Bratan, and the lake temples near Bedugul, on the beautiful island of Bali.
I was at this temple as the sun peeped over the surrounding hills of this mountain lake, before the rush of tourists, and even before any locals began to stir. These ancient temples sit out in the lake and are a photographers dream, there are so many photos of them. So here is one more, taken from thigh-deep in the water.

THis is so beautiful, Kevin. I like the morning light and the haze above the water. It could work great even without the trees, as a monochrome image. Very well done.

Fantastico lugar, el angulo no es del todo bueno ya que las plantas impiden ver bien el fondo, un poco mas a la derecha hubiera estado mejor.

Maybe this site has been taken thousand and thousand ( I had too ), but to be honest yours is one of the best ! I like the way of the water, it looks you had a a long aperture.

Superb blue-green hues, in a superb setting. Definitely the type of shot that gives a place all its aura on the paper/screen.

Your picture's execellent Kevin. i wish i had made one like that when i was there. Was worth getting up early (did you use a hotel around?). I would have prefered to completely see the leftmost temple but these trees do not let you decide so much, do they?

Beautiful lighting.
So much depth and variety in light levels, it is a wonder that you could make it look this good (hard work on developing/printing?). The balance of the picture is great, and again, your colours are superb - it was taken a while back, can you remember the film type?

Great info on how it was taken (knee deep) a reminder to us all that the really good pix require effort!

I agree with everyone on the framing and congratulate you on getting out early enough to capture the early morning light.

I'm not pleased by the noise in the shot. Why not try using Neat Image, Noise Ninja, or another good piece of software to smooth out the worst parts?

And that one bright red spot in the center of the frame is a bit distracting from the overall feeling of tranquility. Any idea what it is? (I'd turn it down a bit were the picture mine.)
