Photographer's Note

Halmahera is another volcanic island, a sparsely populated being the largest island in North Maluku province. Located on the east of Ternate and Tidore Islands in Eastern Indonesia, bounded by Molucca sea and the Pacific Ocean. Unexplored, mountainous with dense rainforest and rarely visited, it offers great
scenery with abundance of natural beauty rich in flora and fauna. An exotic endangered specie, the Birds-of-Paradise can only be found here besides Papua New Guinea.

This late afternoon shot was taken at Gufasa hamlet near Jailolo on Central Western coast of Halmahera island overlooking Molucca sea.
