Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan is built on the water - rivers and canals are a feature of the city. The floating market is about 45 minutes by boat from the city centre. The morning light from the combination of sun and smoke from wood fires, the colourful people and the whole active scene give it wonderful atmosphere.

Hi, Campbell

This is a marvelous shot, I hope it gets deserved recognition from more members. The light has a nice overall glow (I thought Benares for a 1/10th of a second), the faces do lack utter sharpness, but somehow it works with the blotchy aspect of all these little color spots against the nascent new day. It is just fun to watch. Thanks
