Photographer's Note

This is a quick peek from safe distance, into every day life along Barito River Delta, in Muara Tamban:

They are not on a picnic outing but going to school rowing a small canoe as they navigate the canals on the delta. The glittering of flooded water charmed me as the river flows along its very long length through the flat lowland. I am very fascinated by the way of life and the strength of the people who live along this great river.

They are a little bewildered by my presence perhaps, but I thought they enjoyed their picture taken.
I loved the “who the heck are you?” look in the curious eyes of that boy. Kids are kids the world over, I wish the world is kinder to them as they grow.

A river seems a magic moving thing......
