Photographer's Note
On a market, another Javanese woman with a heartrending eye.
Her pink headdress was really vivid.

Very nice portrait and daily life shot here, Yves! Although it looks a bit blur, still looks great and unique. Great color and contrast, espacially the pink scarf. Nice one!

great picture here, I like the facial expressions here and the background, this picture tells us of many stories of sorrow.
Well captured and framed

Excellent portrait, as Maciek says, the postioning of the sack slightly out of focus gives it an edge.

wow wow! from the thumnail I already knew this shot was a killer! :-) I like it a lot. The more I go thru TE, the more I like portraits. I must admit that I did already love it pretty much before!
maybe it lacks a bit of sharpness but this shot is more than making up for it by its very strong and sound composition and light tones...;-) I like how the background serves the main subject to stand out! Beautiful shot yves!

good contrast of her headgear and dress with the drab backgrounds, and good composition. Her expression's a bit distressing do you think?
Clarity's a little off but sharpness is not everything.
Good shot! :)

This is a really haunting image Yves, technically it has it's faults but the sheer power of the framing and the subject transcends everything else.
Fantastic.

Lovely contrast of colours, Yves! The light makes this portrait quite different from the usual ones and it has a certain charm in it. Very well seen and captured!

Yves, this is another interesting portrait that you posted. The colors & her look is really mesmerizing. I also like the fact that the left part is very bright whereas the right side is shadier. Great!

A simple portrait but very emotive and expressive. Her face shows a tougher life than most I think. Well captured.

The color range is outstanding though it doesn't distract from a good formal composition (the mass of the sack balances the character for instance).
A very good point is that while you write the scarf color was "vivid" it doesn't override the other colors thanks to what appears to me like a reduced color saturation even if it appears a bit flashier than the rest. I'm quite curious to know which film reacted like that...
The only flaw I can see is her eyes are not razor sharp, it seems you focused on her scarf.

excellent Yves. Good balancing in the image. Image is not so sharp but i think it feels better, gives a more far out look to the picture and fits well with the expression of the woman.
