Photographer’s Note

Well not really, there was a muslim school in Surubaya's old town, and kids semmed to interrupt their activities so that they could follow us. This kid was taking a break i a house's small courtyard. I particularly liked the squared tiles here.

This is a damn good photo Daniel. Composition is excellent. The more muted color palette looks great. The scenery around the boy is really compelling, being in the little space below the street, with that red bag behind him. His expression is really nice also, along with thos big eyes and blue cap.

Quick question for you also - how close are you here, especially with that 10-20? I am thinking of getting one and am just interested.

Brilliant expression with an excellent viewpoint. He looks like he's about to share a secret. Colours of the tiles, clothing and walls all go very well together with good shadows. Very enjoyable. Thanks.

Hello, Daniel--
You weren't playing around in Indonesia... you have a lot of really close portraits, as i'm sure this one was at 14mm. While i like what you've done with it a lot, letting the lines of the courtyard echo the shape of his squatting posture and exposing it very well, and while i know that you must have been incredibly close already... this one just seems to be begging to be even closer. But really nice work here.

un portrait au 10/20, ça donne des proportions un peu bizarre, mais la photo est de bone qualité, et l'expression du gamin aux grands yeuxbien captée.

He he une vue appropriee pour la rentree des classes, mais faut dire "school starts", pas "schools's out", tu ecoutes trop de alice cooper ;-))

Muy buen retrato del niño con su gorra azul, esta muy bien captada, los mosaicos con sus colores hacen un buen juego en tu foto. Buen POV y definicion.
