Photographer’s Note
Tucked in the back streets of Surabaya old quarters are a hive of economic activities such as this one.
This man makes and sells wooden clogs of many designs. I wonder how many of us actually wear a pair nowadays, but of course there is still a market for them. Otherwise this man would not have been seen here.
The t-shirt he is wearing says, "Tuhan akan memenuhi segala kebutuhanmu bukan keinginanmu", loosely translates as "God will fulfill all your needs but not your wants."
Something to stop and ponder upon.
