Photographer’s Note

Surabaya is celebrating her 714's birthday this year. The city is older by any standard if compared to any places in my own country. Therefore it holds a lot of contrasting elements.

In the southern and western parts of the city, there are tall buildings and new developments. On the northern part, however, there are older quarters and one turn into the narrow streets and you're back decades!

Much like a film set, Jalan Panggung seen here, provides a retrospective vista of charming rustic urban facades and shophouses.

Good shot of the daily life Ewan. The trishaw guy was saying something to the photographer - maybe a tip for the snap. Made a little ws according to my flavor. Hope you don't mind?
