Photographer’s Note

this shot was taken in kampung laut (literally, water village), a restaurant by the sea in the northern part of the city of semarang, central java. this seems to be a new addition to the complex. they illuminated the trees with green lights and somehow contrasted and blended with the lights in the cottages. the lights reflected on water that seemed to brighten the otherwise boring dark sky and water. i like this effect and there goes me shooting despite my camera's flash not functioning.

Hello Ronaldo, With a shot like this I think your flash would be useless because the subject is too far away. It looks like a lovely spot & the emerald lighting is very effective. The reflections are good. If at all possible you might have lowered the ISO rating to reduce noise but that would have meant using a tripod & you probably didn't have one. The composition with the diagonal is another good point.
