Merapi volcano, a photo from Jawa Tengah, Java

I know it is not the shot which will attrack many people, even I recognize it is not the best possible shot. But I like the mood of this view, in line with the feelings I had being there.
It is very early morning, the Sun is still not awake: so high iso, large aperture and still a slow speed.

I put in WS another view taken later in the day and showing the dead trees from previous eruption.

Effectivement , la vignette attire peu car elle est très sombre . On découvre cependant en l'ouvrant un paysage fascinant , auquel la faible lumière donne , comme tu le dis , une atmosphère très spéciale . l'image est en outre très bien composée .

c'est vrai que le premier plan est sombre. Pas modifiable en PP? En tout cas je trouve la compo super équilibrée.

A great impression that is very well composed and taken despite the weather conditions, it's quite dramatic seen from this pov and the ash clouds clearly visible from the peak. The heavy sky adds the atmosphere to this legendary volcano and the amazing moment well recorded. Excellent depth created by the lush foreground, this is not an everyday subject and thks for yhe effort, Well done, TFS

je l'ai vu en pleine eruption en 2006 avec de belles coulées de lave nocturnes, mais il reste malgré tout assez sinistre et inquietant. Ta phot le rend bien

quelle vue sur ce volcan qui se découpe en fond avec ce sommet qui a une forme et un dessin superbe avec ce ciel gris-bleu la végétation quelle vue et iamge.

Despite your misgivings recorded in your notes, this is for me a very atmospheric and effective image. I really like the drama, but still want to see a little bit more into the shadowy jungle. I hope you won't mind a WS to see if there's any hidden detail in there.

Yes, I agree with you, not your best, but certainly very beautiful. And if it means alot to you, you should post it, they're the most important shots, in my opinion. Beautiful greenery, texture and depth. I like the WS too, although in lightening the image, it has changed the atmosphere. Nice work.

Un paysage bien mystérieux comme je les aimes ! J'espère que tu t'es rapproché encore plus.
d'ou vient ce vignettage assez prononcé ?
