The colourfull of Karapan Sapi or Bull Race originated from Madura island (east java province). Karapan sapi only found at Madura because its a parts of their believes and culture, also contained a sociall pride among them. The races ussually held every year, after harvest seasson. For Madura people, this bull races is hard and realy-realy a tough competition by all means. Alot of money has spent to make a fast and strong bull along years back. The pride of the owner and his team also on the line. The looser will be lost his pride, the the winner will rise as a respectfull figure in their society.
This shot not a real Karapan Sapi, its a statue of bull race with a young boy running besides it. And somehow it was a funny shot... :-)
