Photographer’s Note

Evening sky at Taki. Taki is a small township of North 24 Parganas, located at the bank of the river Ichhamoti. The place is situated at the border of India and Bangaldesh. Ichhamoti is the de-marker of these two countries here. Visitors come often for holiday and picnic. There are two guest houses for them. One is private and other one is from Taki municipality. One can hire a boat and go for a river cruise on Ichhamoti. You will see BSF petroling over the border area. The boat will take you to a small and beautiful nearby islan named 'Machhranga'. The place is full of green. By road it takes 2 to 2.5 hrs to go there from Kolkata. One can avail trains from Sealdah station. Local trains goes to Taki and it takes almost the same time as the car. Ichhamoti river, Bangalesh are the main attaractions of this place. Winter is the best place to go there. According to the local people, Dussera [Bijoya Dashami, during Durga Puja festival]is another most important time to visit Taki.
