Sunrise in the Great Thar Desert Photo

Photographer’s Note

Took this picture at about 6:00 AM in Thar Desert, Rajasthan - Dec 2007. We were camping in the desert the whole night. Mind it... no hut... nothing.. just sleeping in open air. Weather was pretty cold.. around 6 deg C but I managed to grab my camera,mount it on the tripod and shoot this.

Touched the pic with PS to give a more warm effect. Or shouldn't i?

No, no, don´t worry, the PS touched version is just fine. Nice contrast and interesting (although pretty simple) composition. I hope you are not trying to do advertisement for a cigarettes brand here! ;-)
The compression is way too high - that could have been easily managed when saving the file from PS.

You have a very nice composition and the warming that you did looks great. You do have some noise but I suspect it is because you only have 38kb whereas you are allowed up to 300kb. When you are resizing to TE parameters in PS pick a compression figure the will give you something closer to 300kb.
