Photographer’s Note

Leh, Leh-Ladakh - altitude 3500 m

The festival that various tribes gather putting on traditional costume from various regions in Ladakh. Under blazing sun, long speech of the great person is pain truly. The temperature indicated on my Protrek was 40 °C verge.
She gave to my lens a smile like forgetting the intense heat. Taken at the polo ground in Leh.

PS: Yes the lens is heavy but it's only half the weight of 2,8 or 4,0 fixed one.

Hello Hisashi,
It's a nice picture with fine details. Parts of it are a bit overexposed, but the lady with the beautiful smile is just right, and that's the most important thing. I love those Ladakhi hats. I like to watch the woman behind the smiling one leaning her tired head onto her hand, the next one rubbing her eyes and the girl in the upper left corner yawning. It must have been a very, very long speech.

Hisashi: you can't tell how nice this shot is from the thumbnail - but, even with the blow out areas - it's colors are great. And your models expression - perfect. very nice. c

That's a very nice smile she's giving you, Hisashi--self-confident but not brash, as if she knew you from somewhere. (Maybe from a past life or something.) I like your shallow DOF that brings her out from a crowded background. A very colorful scene! Regards, Ken.
