Enchey Monastery is located on a quite hilltop in Gangtok.We went there when it was nearly afternoon.The wheather was gloomy and that added to the sanctity of the silent surroundings.The way to the monastery from the main gate is a five minute walk through the forest decorated with prayer flags and after a distance by series of prayer wheels which are ubiquitous in places of religious worship of the Buddhists.

The prayer wheel is a religious implement with holy mantras inscribed on it and rotated by the hand when a devotee goes round the monasteries or chortens.
