The Taj Mahal is mausoleum Located in Agra, India
With a touching love story behind it.
The Taj was Built by mughal emperor Shah Jahan (1592-1666) in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Muslim Persian princess that died during giving birth to their 14th child.
The emperor was left heartbroken and decided to execute a promise he made to his beloved wife - to build
the world's beatiful memorial for her.
Construction started in 1631 and took about 22 years
to finish, during that time 20,000 workers were employed
and 1,000 elephants were used to transport material & pieces to the site from all over Asia.
Eventually an architectural pearl was made and today consider of the seven world wonder.
Shah Jahan, himself also, lies entombed in this mausoleum along with his wife.

This is my version of the very photographed site, hope you like..

Hi Silvio,
probably you are the billionth photographer of Taj Mahal, it is true though that the place is so marvellous that I am never tired to see it. This picture of yours works very well thanks to the pleasant contrast between the very pale colours of the architecture and the dark silhouette of the visitors in the foreground. The only (slight) weak point is that "half-man" in the right bottom angle. Anyway it was worth taking one more picture of Taj Mahal... Congratulations, Dario.

Ciao Silvio!
What a great picture. . . so different. . the monument there is nothing without humans, and you catched the spirit of the monument with your special point of view, a monument to love where couples come together, as we see on the picture, a monument to share with your love. . . and your friends on TE ;).

Thanks for sharing.
Best Regards.
Manuel

Hi Silvio.

This is a great picture! I have seen lots of pictures of the Taj Mahal on TrekEarth as I would really like to go. However I really like your picture. First of all, I think you have taken this at a great time as the lighiting is very good. Also your composition is great. I love the way everything is symmetrical here. Your point of view is really good here and the two couples are in perfect positions. You have done really well to capture this. Also thanks for the info! I never knew that!

Very well done!

Blair

Hi Silvio,
the Taj is a magic place. In contrary to many other pictures you put the human size into it, the silhouettes make the Taj look even bigger and more majestic.
Good job !
Cheers chris

Hello Silvio,
He did manage to build the most beautiful memorial. It's such a magic place.
Your spectators on the foreground create a good DOF and contrast.
I really enjoy your version of this site
Well done
Estelle
