Photographer’s Note
This is one of my "stick camera out of moving car-no chance to compose-pray for a good result" shots. Most of such shots are disasters, but some, like this one, produces results which exceeds my expectations. I even managed some framing too with the tree trunk on the left ! ;-).
Taken from our running car, somewhere between Chamera Dam and Chamba. Steep slopes of the lower Himalayas and terrace farming so predominant here. Down below you can see a glimpse of the pristine blue Chamera lake which the road followed for quite some time.
The economy of Himachal Pradesh is predominantly agricultural. Due to a wide range of agro-climatic and topographical conditions ranging from flat lands in the lower hills to the cold deserts, many different crops are grown here. Rice and wheat in the lower valleys; tomatoes and other vegetables in the middle hills; apples, plums and other fruits in the higher regions and dry fruit and potatoes in the cold deserts.
Tea, ginger and mushrooms are some of the important cash crops. Due to the difficult terrain, barely 11% of the total geographical area is under cultivation. To gain more cultivable land, terrace farming is commonly practiced. At higher elevations, farming is often supplemented by the raising of livestock.
There was no place to stop the car since the road was narrow, but I had to capture the beauty of the coexistence between natural & man-made beauty. I also liked the layers of the foliage in the FG, leading us down the terraced slopes to the blue of the Chamera Lake & the mountains of the lower Himalayas beyond!..but if you say "good composition" for this picture, it's purely by chance & nothing I can take credit for.

Magnifique, tel est le premier mot qui vient à l'esprit.

Hi Angshu,
You was quite lucky to get a decently opened view on the fields and lake! Details are sharp enough and colors came out nicely saturated! I ve done many from the car in Myanmar too, with very little success!

A sucessfull result of this view though the trees. The terraced fields are clearly visible, and the bright blue of the lake gives a very pleasant color.
All the best,

Hi Angshu,
You're right, it's not bad for a stick out the window photo; I suppose you were trying to drive too. I guess the factg that you're still posting indicates your success with driving. I find the tree a distraction rather than an enhancemenent. However the tail of the sharp detail of the terraces and the depth of the lake still provide good DOF in spite of the flat light.

Bonjour Angshu
Love the impressive POV on the terraces, dam, forest and mountains from the car window, which gave excellent results. Sharpness is allowing to see clearly the details and colors are well rendered.

Well, good composition! :D Olá Angshu, this is quite impressive, consider the conditions you describe. 1/40 and all this sharpness from a moving car? Are you a magician? And best of all is that this is a unique POV never shown before, because there's no place to stop the car here. Yes, I love the framing, the beautiful graphism of the terraces (the best here) and in the end a bit of that amazing blue water color. Congratulations my friend.

Hi Angshu.
C'est une merveille ce paysage de montagne gagnée à la culture par la volonté et le travail des hommes. Belles couleurs dans un fourmillement de détails. Un vrai plaisir pour les yeux.

Hi Angshuman,
This bold POV gives a dizzy sight towards the valley and to the dam, and the terraces of the hills offer us a splendid graphism in the composition.
I like the great depth of the image, and you have had a good idea placing the pines and its branches in foreground.
Nice work, my friend.
Best regards,

Hi Angshuman,
The tree are a natural frame to terraces and the lake. The downward view is an asset to the composition. It allows us to see the details and colors of the area. The colors are well contrasted. The photo is sharp and clear. Have a nice day.
