Photographer’s Note
This is my first post at TrekEarth. The photograph was taken at Auli, near Joshimath, Uttaranchal. To reach here you need a drive of 11 Km. or can take a 4.7 Km Cable Car ride from Joshimath. GMVN has a good facility there and has another chair lift to the rest house.
I went there in the month of January and the only option was the Cable Car since roads were closed due to excessive snowfall. We were greeted by a 270 degree panorama of above 7000 meters peaks.
This photograph is of the Sun rising behind Nandadevi, so spectacular and colorful it was that I cannot explain in words.

Hello Jayanta
Welcome to TE! A very nice setting for an interesting shot. Unfortunately, the camera has taken the exposure from the emerging sun, resulting in the majority of the picture in darkness. Trying to capture mood is fine.., but first and foremost, we need to SEE the elements in the picture...tai noi ki? I especially like the snowclad slopes where the first hint of sunlight is falling. To make the picture a bit more prominent, I made 2 Workshops..do let me know if you like them, & which one is better in your opinion. But well done with the composition.
Regards
Angshuman
