Chatturbhuj Temple from Queens Chamber
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Maharani Ganesh Kunwar, wife of Orchha’s ruler, Raja Madhukar, the Queen of Orchha was a devotee of Lord Rama. She wanted to install an idol of Lord Rama, which she had brought from Ayodhya in the Chatturbhuj Temple. When the idol was brought the temple work was not complete and she got it placed in her old palace next to the Chatturbhuj Temple. In the meantime, the new Raj Mahal was also getting constructed. Her chamber in the Mahal was designed such that from the window she could see the place in the Chatturbhuj temple at which the idol was to be placed (In the photograph one can notice two lights inside the Temple from the area without the grill). Unfortunately, when the construction of the Temple was complete, Lord Rama refused to move from the old place, and the King had to install a Vishnu idol in the Chatturbhuj Temple. I had earlier posted a view of this Temple. |

Hello Manoj
This is something I didn't know, the story of the queen & the view of Chaturbhuj. Thanks to your note & your picture I know. Well done through the fine grills of the window. I wished you took this shot earlier in the day to avoid the washed out sky. But compo.wise this is well done.
Regards
Angshu
Hi Manoj,
very beautiful image. I like the way the window pattern cuts the view of the beautiful temple.

Hello Manoj. Clever framing showing the detail of this view picking up the outside image. I like the light and shadow here and well done. Regards. Jusni
