A daily evening scene at Har Ki Pauri Ghat, a famous pilgrim destination to bathe in the Ganga during the Kumbh held after 12 years and Ardh Kumbh after 6 years.

It was my last photo from my visit to Haridwar - Har Ki Pauri, 2.5 sec, taken out of hand, a ramp was the only support to my legs ... then I returned back to peaceful Ram Jhula.

When I was a child, I used to imagine India like something very close to this photo, and it was such an appealing thought that I was scared not to love India when I went there. Happily India and I we loved each other so much as now I love this photo of you Henk. Take care.

A lovely evening scene from Haridwar. The effect of the light is extraordinary here. Nice blurred effect on the pilgrims , as a result of a longer exposure.

Wat een prachtig beeld, je kan er naar blijven kijken en telkens een nieuw detail ontdekken. Hoe graag zou ik daar ook zitten .... Ik hou vooral van het rechtse deel waar je de mensen als wolkjes voorbij ziet lopen ... prachtige kleuren !

I agree completely with Miguel, this is the fairy tale exotic India of dreams, I like the contrast between the seemingly spotless clean and orderly right bank with the seething crowds on the left bank, superb all over.

Personally I wouldn't go BW on this one, the colors add another dimension.

Hi Henk.

This is much more than a photo. It's about a whole world and culture.
The black and white version is very good and the other one is nice too, but I prefer this one.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
I can again see the superb colours and lights in this photo!!!
This too is a DIVINE place and actually seems like THE ABODE OF GOD!
