Photographer’s Note

Coming down the mountain on the Nilgiri Blue Mountain Railroad, the topography is outstanding. The hills an valleys surrounding Ooty(Ootacamund)are covered with terraced villages and fields, with homes occupying all kinds of interesting niches. There's not enough water here for a winter harvest, so the farmers have to wait for the monsoons to irrigate these fields.
The smoke is actually vapor from the steam engine of the narrow gauge train we were riding down from Ooty.

Well captured mood. The smoke from your "toy train" enhances the dryness of the atmosphere because it looks like the air is full of dust. It's part of the story. Good colour harmony and composition. A great grab shot from a moving train.
