Maybe a shot less informative that could be taken anywhere in the world, but then again is TE not changing towards the so called 'artistic' less informative shots ?

Anyway, it was a challenge for me to look for a scene in Chinnalapatti, 55 km from Madurai, the hometown of a friend living now in Bangalore to surprise him as most probably he might have never seen this in his own place.

This was taken at 14:17 in one of the many Chinnalapatti companies famous for its silk-screen printing on saris. I caught this girl, going to the second floor atelier where she was working. Although it was her lunchbreak she took us along upstairs to show us their handwork.

Let's follow the lady in blue :).

Lovely picture with great use of light

Great point of view! You got the best light for the girl! It is just to bad that she is not the most photogenic one and that her dress is petty common. The composition of the picture is just perfect, with the stairs. Nice volumes!

And about this one, the lady in blue... well! We see so many blues and the lady is so well framed in the light!
To be really informative.... you should tell us where is this precious atelier, how to reach it! As in a Lonely Planet guide! ;-))

Via deze foto ben ik in je gallerij beland en ben ik daar even zoet mee geweest! Wat een explosie van kleur en indrukken. Je zet Tamil Nadu overweldigend op de kaart, soms een beetje verontrustend ook, maar altijd fascinerend.

Erg verontrustend ook is die noot over dat BBC artikel. Dat had ik van uitgerekend de BBC niet verwacht.

Deze foto valt binnen je reeks op omdat hij inderdaad iets meer 'arty' is, iets statischer ook.

The BBC is stealing YOUR photos??!! That is ridiculous!! Just to make a strong stance for you, I also sent them an official complaint against their copyright violation of your photographs. That just makes me angry!

A nice photograph. I do like how the girl is surrounded by blue and she actually is more blue by the reflecting blue than by the colour of her dress itself. Nice one.

I like the POV and the blue everywhere.
This picture tells a lot about where it was taken.
Such a beautiful blue can be found only in India :)

Yes.. It could be taken ANYWHERE in the world, but...
It's even more valuable because it was shot in India!
Why is that - you may ask?
Because - there is NO such shots coming from India !!!

That's why...
A classical neo-classicism of late 50' and beginning of 60'...
Black & white - preferable, but your color version is just about perfect.

Really a clever composition where the light is also a very important element. The blue colour is everywhere and you create a very good atmosphere.
