Family portrait from Johdpur Photo

Photographer’s Note

It is well known that it's easy to take pictures of people in India. I was delighted by that and even when I wasn't looking for it, there were times that I was almost forced to take a portrait. It was the case here: The second man on the left called me and my camera when 'we' were passing by and asked me for a family portrait. Just as simple as that - they saw the result on the LCD and thanked me. I don't even know what store is this...

Taken in the streets of Johdpur. You can see here the color that named it the blue city.
The detail is not the best, since my camera is not very suitable for poor light conditions, nevertheless, I'm happy with the result at iso400 (usually it has much more grain).

Interessante o tom forte das paredes em azul. Mesmo sabendo pela sua nota, é interessante observar sua panorâmica dessa cidade para constatar o gosto pelo azul.

Parece-me mesmo bem típica essa foto.

Olá Ricardo,
Está engraçado, de facto, sem ser um retrato extraordinário.
Umas observações/pequenos defeitos (nem todos "culpa" do fotógrafo):
- só o rapaz mais novo está a sorrir.
- o da direita não está olhando para a câmara; parece que estava ou distraído ou contrariado.
- os outros lá atrás roubam um bocadinho do protagonismo aos actores principais.
- o ponto de vista está um pouco de cima para baixo; parece que está, na melhor das hipóteses, ao nível dos olhos do mais alto, mas ficaria melhor ao nível do peito do mais baixo.
- e as mulheres deles? onde é que estão as mulheres com os seus belos saris coloridos?

Chacun est différent dans son genre et chacun est intéressant.
De celui de gauche très présent à celui de droite très distant sans oublié le sourire du plus jeune

The four totally different expressions of these men give this picture an unexpected fascinating value. Only one is looking blue in front of the blue wall of these blue town.
Maybe time to sing the blues.

A great portrait of these four people with two other men in the background as well. It's interesting to see the different expressions on their faces. Also nice to see them in the middle of their shop. Well captured!

É realmente um belo retrato de família! Cada um está bem à sua maneira, mas o que chama mais a atenção é o sorriso do mais novo. É raro que uma foto com tanta gente fique tão bem e nesta até a compo é admirável. Embora se note algum ruído, é quase surpreendente como está tão nítida com tão pouca luz.

You just remembered to me that my favorite pic....blue city!!!That will be the first place I will visit in India,because I fell in love with this place after seeing you image posted on TE .The men in foreground were posing so nice to you and also the men in background too
Even the interior of houses there is blue in that blue city ....Amazing

A exposição é perfeita Ricardo. O detalhe lá atrás na parte escura é muito bom. A luz reflectida na cara deles, as cores, está mesmo muito boa.

Pois eu penso que não te podes queixar de nada. Tens aqui uma exposição excelente, tanto no primeiro plano dos 4 homens como no plano de dentro da loja, aonde aquele tipo ficou muitíssimo bem.

I'd say the rendering is not bad at all, beside the people we get too see a bit of the house interior up to the behind person as well which is interesting, I'm just out of a telephone conference with indians and would have preferred an Alentejo shot to change my mood but that's just me I guess ;-)

I wonder why they do that unless they give you their address to send on the photo. The result is excellent and they managed to keep still (and you) for the slow shutter. I particularly like the smile of the younger one. You have also captured wonderful details in the interior, amazing for f2.2/ Well done

You show us little by little the photos that you took in India last year, I wonder how many more you have in store for us ! I like this one a lot, with the kitchen at the back, and never mind if they posed for you, it is an interesting photo with great natural colours, showing us plenty of details of everyday life...

Excelente retrato de los miembros de esta familia, esta muy bin captada y los colores me gustan, hay una gran nitidez en tu foto captada desde un buen POV. Interesante ver que no hay una sola mujer en toda la casa.

o sujeito da direita está mesmo viajando na maionese e pelo jeito não está gostando do trajeto; o garoto é o mais satisfeito e orgulhoso de estar ali. o ambiente é caótico mas tudo se enquadra bem dentro da imagem, mesmo a luz é boa e a imagem apesar de tudo tem granulosidade apenas em poucos cantos escuros e nada que se note à primeira vista
pensei que vc pararia de escrever à esta altura, mas a viagem deve começar hoje, não é ?

abraços e bons momentos e boas férias. O sul da espanha é um dos meus lugares preferidos, minha alma deve ter morado por aí algum dia
