Sevoke is situated at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas alongside National Highway no. 31. The drive from Siliguri to Sevoke through the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a memorable one.
Sevoke in itself is a tourist destination with visitors from Siliguri flocking the place during weekends. The place is also a must stop for tourists visiting Sikkim, Kalimpong, and the Dooars region.
This picture is of the Nandi river just before it flows into the mighty Teesta.

Great to see North Bengal.....the greenery seems to be very refreshing and so is the overcast sky ... really adding to the drama. The clarity and the sharpness could have been better and also I feel that the frame is bit tilted to the left side.

This is nice again. pity for the gloomy sky, but good that you kept it like what it looks like. the crop works nicely.
I think there is no real tilt in the shot, it is just an illusion from the given landscape.
Waiting for my trip ahead.

You are absolutely right, regarding the memorable journey to Sevoke thru the Mahananda sanctuary. Its one of the most scenic roads I have ever seen. The tek forest on both the sides and the call of the Himalayas from a distance is a treat!!!Only thing -if the road could be improved.I was there in July this year, and found the road to be pretty bad!!However it cannot take away the beauty sorrounding the place. The Sevoke region is a beutiful place as well.I remember, when I was in Siliguri(I stayed there for about 3 months),me and my friend used to go to Sevoke on almost every weekend!!!
the beauty of the place is really portrayed beautifully here!!

Belle image de cette région d'Inde. La composition est bonne et j'aime bien le mouvement de la rivière. Je trouve la photo juste un peu trop petite...
