Photographer’s Note

This was a very special morning to me, I'd spent a whole month in Varanasi with a particularly nasty case of E-Coli but had almost recovered by this point. I woke up spontaneously just before dawn and spent a beautiful hour up on the tall roof of the b&b with my heart wide open to the world watching the town slowly come alive. It was magical. I wandered down to the Ghats, this photo sums up the atmosphere on this lovely morning!

Great composition with the two objects in opposing golden cuts. The colorcontrast is great and the fog makes a marvel. Even the glass has a natural place in both the picture and the story it tells.

Splendid attractive photo Bob which the atmosphere of a serene rest. Great composition with the boat in the morning dew and the peaceful/colourful figure in the foreground. I can image that that the moment you saw the scene was unique and you captured it very well. Your comment adds to the photo. Thanks Ingrid.

Great catch. So hard to get moments like this, and you can just feel the tranquility - amazing. Great composition and really good detail in the hair, etc.
Good balance too.

Excellent photo you have captured here. So simple, but very moving. The little bit of colour in the dull frame, and the misty boat. Truly showing Varanasi and the ghats.

Hello Bob. your photo is very interesting, the composition protruding. The woman in red dominates the picture. The background with the boat works transparency. In addition the photo has a wonderful lighting effect. Altogether very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

I think you should get more attention for this one. This is perfect. That guy or saddhu is sitting at the right place. His red robe and the long hair are amazing. Great sharpnes and beautiful colours. Love the foggy background with the boat. Nino
