| Gulmarg's legendary beauty, prime location and proximity to Srinagar naturally make it one of the premier hill resorts in India. Originally called ‘Gaurimarg’ by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favourite haunt of Emperor Jehangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here. Today Gulmarg is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty- it also has the highest green golf course in the world, at an altitude of 2,650 m, and is the country's premier ski resort in the winter. |

Hi Ananth,
here is a very beautifule place with great nature. I like with snow-covered mountains and the natural pinewood.
Thanks for sharing.
Bahram
Hello Ananth
Very nice and beautiful mountain view. The picture a bit too pale on the trees but it's still ok and I like it, TFS.
best regards
daniel
Hi Ananth
You just no need to describe about the beauty, this is really a example of that. Gulmarg is heaven of India, One of my fav places in India. I visited in 2003 and that time and i don't had camera but anyway you capture a very good picture of gulmarg's, I love the big ground, mountains and lush valley, Please share more pictures if you have the same location's.
Cheers
rajiv
Hi Ananth,
Ski was something I had expected there, but Golf, that is new for me. Nice changing layers from the green ground over the forest to the snowy peaks. A bit burning white which lost its structure, but the difference of all layers seems to be high. Maybe a higher ISO (200) would create better results.
Lieben Gruss, Ulf
