Chandanwari is 16 kms from Pahalgam, and is the starting point of Amarnath yatra that takes place every year from July to August. The road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is on fairly flat terrain and can be undertaken by car.

Pahalgam is Kashmir's premier resort appox 90kms from Srinagar, Around Pahalgam are some beautifull Valley's most of them having their side valleys too.
