Photographer’s Note
This week a landmine explosion killed over 30 people on the road between Jammu and Srinagar. If anyone is wondering what it is like to live there, this is a daily life photo of a Market Road, near Dalgate, in Srinagar.
Fully armed Indian Army soldiers are as a feature of the daily life as fruit sellers. Wherever you go, you'll bump into a UN Mission or an Indian Army base.
Still, Kashmir is my favourite place in India.
Not much artistic content in this photo but life is not always as good-looking as pictures show, is it?

Sometimes a good picture goes unnoticed because only those who live there can read between the lines.
This is an amazing picture of daily life in Kashmir...showing how life goes on and normalcy returns almost as soon as the dust has cleared from a blast site!
You have chosen the "right place " to be your favourite in India too :-)

Hi Olga, very nice scene. I love pictures of street scenes, such as this one. There is a lot of action. I like the houses, the people and the colours in this photo. Well done!
