"கோவில் இல்லாத ஊரில் குடியிருக்க வேண்டாம்..." - "No town is fit to live without a temple..." Said the Grand old saintess Auvayyar.
This is nothing to do with Religion. In Ancient days the temples were the place where a lot of socialization happened. Information on all walks of life was shared here... Dances, festivals, advisories all happened here... Wthout such socialising any culture dies down...
In this fast era, these are all past memories dying down...
Religions have become fanatism, places of worship have been slowly turned into materialist minions.
Here we see the unique 8 faced tank, reminding of its past glory, lost in time & memory.
I was trying to frame it different ways & finally got this in right perspective thanks to Henk`s Suggestion.
A Closer look here.
Still closer here...

Romba alagana sunny light edition, very fine detailled, slighty tending to yellow stones, could be slighty red filtered, perfect light contrast mannagment !
Like the WS too, this is top class editing, second WS a tiny too sharp, well done Prem.

This angle is not establishing the eight dimensional tank. But your other shots are.....very good.
When I look at the shot, my eyes are drawn more to the background.

You must know that Henk are a very great photographer, and always gives excellent advice, also I've a lot learned from them.
I find this picture very well, excellent composition and nice colours too! The sharpness and clarity are superb, also nice technical! TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

Hi Prem, still an excellent shot of this historical tank, colors and contrast are perfect to reality, we were lucky to find here and I like the introducting ramp with the lion to the tank giving it a strong geometrical support.
All the best with the new life in your midts.

Very original shape indeed for this tank. I went online to learn more about Tharamangalam and its famous temple. When you say "unique" do you know for a fact that it's the only tank with this shape?
