twinkle... twinkle... Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this picture in a place called Nigam Bodh Shamshan Ghat (I hope it's spelled correctly) It is a place by the Jumana river where bodies of those who has passes away are cremated. On both sides of the main gate, there are tents, and I would rather say tent-like constructions of plastic foil and fabric where the the most poor, homeless people live or at least, they last in poverty and hunger.
This is a sad picture showing the whole truth about our world. About how different we are depending on where we are, what we do and how we live.
A world full of contrasts and individualities... a place where not every child goes to sleep with the sound of "twinkle, twinkle little star..." in its ears.
It made me think much about things we usually neglect as they don't touch us personally...
But in the end... we all live on the same Planet Earth, don't we?

Its a sorry state of affairs, I know but leaving that aside this is a very special photo with the light on the kid.

Love it because your photo is much more an artistic work, is very expressive, the blured backgroung makes it very deep. Congratulations.

Yes, it is correct that we all live on the same planet earth, and there are lot of contradictions and difference, Life is not simple anywhere in the world, those who having sufficent money do have many other problem, and those who do not have any money at all they also having lot of problems, but no one is there without the problem.

The picture is very well taken, the colors are good and the effects are wonderfull. TFS !

Nice accent on the subject made by using light. The blurred background increses the dramatism of the photo. sad but still optimistic in colors and tones. Great shot!

Very sad but interesting composition here.The blur back round is a very good choice here,send all the interesting to the child and its motion.Very nice and most of all a rare moment!
