Photographer’s Note
little kids dressed up as krishna, radha and their gopi (cowherd) friends receive a lot of adulation from devotees on the occasion of holi. in return they give the devotees their blessings and prasad.

Cute scene, quite rare in these days...I am reminded of my own childhood memories, even then it was a very very rare scene.

Hi sohrab,
Tough shot to take.U have captured that so wonderfully. Its a very strong journalistic approach to give the true culture, the diversed culture of India.
Nice timing also.
I have a wish to see the coloured version of the HOli.

The most appealing thing for me is the way you divided the frame with the two hands touching each other (a man and a woman) and placed the young boy on the right side of the partition looking onto the center of the frame and placed the older man on the opposite corner who is leaving the frame. The nerd in me likes this 2 by 2 partitioning. Aside from that the picture just elicits intense nostalgic feelings in me. Love it.

Prantik
PS: your last two-three pictures were neutorn bombs (while I am still not convinced about the choice of BW for a Holi picture, I did not hesitate to mark your last picture as a favourite), so I can understand why this one hasn't generated as much enthusiasm in people yet. It does speak to me though.

So nicely framed, Sohrab. I know this is a shot taken in the rush of things, poeple jostling you left and right trying to get at that little gilded avatar... But yougot something really nice and "street" out of it, like, for instance that Krishtamurti lookalike in the to left corner.
So glad to see you uloading regularly again...
Take care,
Francis

Olá Sohrab, great capture of this action scene. I love how everything,...or everyone points to the center, except the guy at upper left. This line of arms with both hands touching is really good, as well as the kid at right FG.

Hi Sohrab.
Amazing this photo. In fact all your gallery is plenty of unique moments and photos.
And this one is too.
I love the scene by itself and the black and white.
I don't know how you can be there, you can stand and no one mind about you presence and your camara. It looks very natural.
But, and that's very important, we see unique moments. We learn with them and about them.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent frame.
I feel like I am there , in the situation.
The two touching hands cross with the boy on the right and the old man on the left, gives to the picture a very special atmosphere and power.
The dark eyes and the strange smile from the man who touch the hand from the woman, gives a mistery touch .
Thank you

In there times I think I would have fully praised the complexity of this one but after your cranked up the level with your kumbha mela and holi shots, watch out for the critics, Sohrab. hehehe..
Funnily enough this is perhaps one where I miss color a lot... in fact I miss Krishna's BLUE skin... wasn't him who is said to have shagged more than 10.000 gopis? and after that how come India is so puritan?
