Indian Himalyas
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The first weeks of 2001 I found myself wandering around Sikkim and the Indian Himalayas.
Shot during an evening stroll from the grounds of a Tibetan Monastary, looking across into Bhutan. In this region it is hard to distinguish any difference between Tibetan, Bhutanese and general Himalayan culture. The establishment of Indian presence has still not watered down the strong personality of these mountains and people. |

Wow! Great aerial perspective, and what a stunning tonal range! Most of us will count ourselves truly fortunate to come across an image like this once in a lifetime! Well seen and even better photographed! There is a little bit of "roughness" to the image, so I ran it through NeatImage -- see the workshop version. Love this one, though!
I count (on the least) 6 mountains planes. Excellent picture with very good DOF, allowing an amazing effect in tones going from deep blue to purple
Lovely view and colors. The odd pixel formations radiating from the center are probably due to either grain-removal or blur. I love the light here, and your exposure seems very effective!

Très joli dégradé de bleu contrastant avec le rouge du ciel. Une image très douce, très reposante, magnifique ! Félicitations !
The blue mountains as immortalised in Roerichs paintings of the Himalayas !
Made me feel right at home....:-)
Of the workshop I like the original better than Raytherons neat image version.
Well captured a view which we have learnt to take for granted..and only realise its true worth when we see it on TE !!
