This photograph is of a place called Dhotre which is very common within the Trekkers to The Singalila park in West Bengal. It is a small settle of houses at 2700 Mts and is very gradually coming up as the starting point for the trek to Sandakphu.!!

It is around 10 mks from mane bhanjan and 13 Kms from Rimbick.The small path you can see onm the left side of the house leads to Tonglu(3090mts) which is the first halt on the trek route to Sandakphu..!!!This is a beautiful trek route and is very effective for people who want to make it to Tonglu in a short time.

13 Guides from this place have been given lisences by the Government and people are gradually starting to trek from this place. One can reach Dhotre from darjeeling by paying Rs.70 in a share jeep and can also stay there in the small hotels which are there as you can see here. the charges for these hotels are around Rs 150 to 300 per day and the best part is the hospitality of the local people who really treat tourists like god and are always there for all help needed..!!

It was afternoon when I took this photograph.The place was totally covered with fog and all the people were in the houses expecting a big shower which eventually came but after I left from there.
