Only 15 Rs...
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Only 15 rs.. (1US$ = app. 45 Indian Rupees)
On Suburb Railway station you can find many porters those are not authorised one to work as porter on railway station.
but even though they work. with very less money.
With high risk.
When train get in to station with very high speed, they get in that running train to get customer. Some times it wrong timming means end of life. :(
Early morning from station to old market generlly they carry heavy fruit/veg. bags for those vendors.
it takes aroud 15-20 min by walk. by carrying around 50-60 kg..they run like anything. They put the bag take money and run back to station for next train.
All seasons are same for them.
In that 15 Rs, he need to pay part to station security for not to stop him from working there. |

Hi Shail
Beautiful work here...amazing colours and striking expression of the man. the position of these three is perfect. good notes too...a fine documentary of the harsh reality of life.
Best wishes
CheukHin
Nicely composed with that fellow on the left walking right into our living rooms! This one has depth and movement, and life, Shail. I do think the colors are a touch oversaturated, you know...
Having said that it's a pungent slice of real life.
Best,
Francis

Hello, Shailendra--
Nice work here, and very informative note. i agree with Francis that the colors are a bit oversaturated, but the composition is very interesting, showing the background people watching the porter with disinterest as he strains under his load.
Thanks,
sam
Hi Shail...
i will fire away with open and FRANK comments, that I know you will appreciate. I think this is ok. What I feel is missing is some kind of fluidity. I mean, you have tilted, but I do not feel that it has the effect you required. You speak of the men carrying things on their heads to the train...however, there is no sign of the things on his head...for all I know, he could have his hands on his head (for whatever reason)...
Also, the scene does not look quite as lively as I expect it could be. Perhaps a few more attempt in this area might help you to portray the message a little better.
...no sign of trains either...
