Photographer’s Note
Dear trekearth members:
All of you handle camera and practice & nurture the best artistic culture that is the visual art. The best sense is the sense of vision.
Do you know about the goddess of Photography/arts?
Let me introduce her to you because today is that auspicious day for her worship.
She is Devi Saraswati by name. Hindu mythology has described her to be the Deity looking after the development of education and all the artistic senses like Writing a poem, Music, Dance, Painting, Sculpture and of course Photography too in human beings. any creative sense with an artistic touch in human beings is controlled by her.
The photo of the idol as you see above she is fair looking, adorned with natural ornaments of flowers and pearls, holding Bina (A string musical instrument) in her two hands. She moves sitting on the back of a Swan.
She is unmarried (In some old mythology she has been described as Lord Brahma's wife).
It is believed that the great poet of Sanskrita language literature Kabi Kalidasa who was the in the court of the King Bikramaditya was blessed by her and so he could create those famous literatures like Abhigyana Shakuntalam etc.
Shukla Panchami Tithi that is the fifth day of this running lunar month every year is the day meant for her worship. This is beig celebrated as a festival all over India today. It is an important Hindu religious festival. However people participate irrespective of religion and profession.
The students of all the educational institutions participate today. They clean and decorate their schools and colleges and worship the idol as above in their institutes. Classes remain off for the study.
As she is the Goddess of cultural arts the students observe the day by performing musical drama, dance, song and various other cultural presentations within themselves.
The pupils worship their books, writing pens and musical instruments today along with the Goddess by keeping those objects by her side.
I am also not an exception and kept my old friend Zenit and Nikon-F-50 by her side while my SONY-DSC-50 did the capture for you.
Thanks a lot for your patient reading.

I was attracted by the title of this and found your note very interesting to read, Dr Bhunia. Good photograph technically. I don't suppose there is very much you can do about being creative in composing a shot like this apart from putting the statue in the middle. The swans provide a nice balance to it though. Cheers . . . David
