Photographer’s Note

This Mausoleum was constructed by devotees to Haji Ali, a rich merchant who renounced his wealth before visiting Mecca. It is beleived he contemplated those shores before his final trip. The construction protrudes The Arabic Sea somewhat 500m from the shore. It is a place of pilgrimage and worship now.

The architecture in Mumbai is very diverse and often strange to European eye; it is understandable, because of different turns in the history of the region and there are many religies presented nowadays.

Unfortunately the weather was smokey the days we visited the Mumbai, I gues it was seazon related.
