Photographer’s Note
This Mausoleum was constructed by devotees to Haji Ali, a rich merchant who renounced his wealth before visiting Mecca. It is beleived he contemplated those shores before his final trip. The construction protrudes The Arabic Sea somewhat 500m from the shore. It is a place of pilgrimage and worship now.
The architecture in Mumbai is very diverse and often strange to European eye; it is understandable, because of different turns in the history of the region and there are many religies presented nowadays.
Unfortunately the weather was smokey the days we visited the Mumbai, I gues it was seazon related.

Toate cele bune

Hello Iaroslav,
The great physicist Werner Heisenberg once wrote, "Never underestimate how much pleasure he derives from something he already knows." So it is for this mausaleum and me. In 1997 I saw this edifice while sailing out of Mumbai, bound for the Persian Gulf. Good composition, exposure and presentation with the unusual "frame." Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Iaroslav,
Thank you for bringing me back one of my first views of India. I never visited it, but I remember seeing it from the taxi coming from the airport.
For an hazy day and a so distant subject, it has a good definition and contrast.
Maybe you'd better explain that the colors of the horizontal stripes are from the Indian flag. Normally I don't value those kind of things, but it looks very nice and apropriate on this photo.
TFS, Regards, José.
