A few ghats of Varanasi are not meant for bathing. This one, for instance, is a dhobi ghat, meant for washing clothes.

Very nice composition, Bishan. The color here is unusual and adds much to the general feeling it projects. Your decision to intersect the boat, and not to avoid that by rising to next higher step of the ghaat and tilting the lens forward is actually very good...it avoids the pedestrian attitude of getting a textbook shot. Here we see the boat through the eyes of a lazey onlooker as (s)he would see the boat cross the pole and fill in the lost trajectory of space through cognition. Well done my friend.

the scene is quite good although the colors are too bluish in my opinion...

Hey Bishan...

nice to see you crossing these waters once again.

Unfortunately, I am not taken too much by this. Its a little messy for my tastes. The sky is a little washed out and there is little really anchor the picture. The boat would have been a good candidate, but the fact that it overlaps with the wooden pole is not a good thing IMO.

I might have been tempted to crop the sky out altogether...or maybe most of it.
