Photographer’s Note
Back in Varanasi, the leap into the river is not an act limited to children. Here though it's a child all right.
The resizing of the photo had strange effect. I am nowhere close to mastering this necessary evil of an art.
(As usual, i am really sorry for not being on Trekearth for so long. I have been madly busy with work, and also with traveling and finishing up my photos on the comp. i hope to rejuvinate myself here now.)

Great shot, Bishan! An almost surreal image, with his strange splayed fingers and wooden posture in the act of jumping. A strange and arresting, but appealing photo. Regards,
Ryno

The floating sensation from the frozen person above the water, it's an interesting and appealing effect here. It is wonderful to see someone that confident and trusting to be able to just leap into the water in such a carefree way.

Hi Bishan,
nice to see you back here on TE. A strange but very nice compo. The boys hands look so big next to the rest of him. The boat on the right side is very effective for this image.
Varanasi is one of these places I wish to see one day.

Bishan,
I like this photo a lot. The sense of carefree abandon is well taken. I also like how you have composed it with the horizon being an important part and also the texture of the boat, gray-blue, in the morning light. Silhuette works well.
[what software do you use to process your images? What was the original image size? Sometimes if you push the contrast or curves a bit too much you get this sort of effect around margins of high contrast objects. Just a guess, other factors may well have contributed]

it is funny how he seems to walk on waters... However, I am wondering why the horizon seems rounded, is this something stemming from the lens you used or else? really gald to see you back on TE.. I am not so present either
Take care
