[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mysore Palace at around 6.30PM on a Sunday evening - about half an hour before the weekly turning on of the bulbs (all 97000 of them) when, to the delight of the watching crowds, the whole place is lit up (the shots of which I took did not come out too well - I wish I'd had my Nikon when I went to India!).

Processing done in Arcsoft Photostudio - rotated 1 degree anticlockwise then cropped taking off some of the path in the foreground, reduced image size then sharpened lightly, and increased the saturation a little.

an extract from http://www.mysorepalace.org/mysore_palace.htm

"A priceless national treasure and the pride of a kingdom, the Mysore Palace is the seat of the famed Wodeyar Maharajas of Mysore.

An eclectic synthesis of architectural styles the palace is one of India’s most dramatic national monuments.

Today it is a museum housing treasures from across the world reflecting the rich and colorful history of the erstwhile princely state of Mysore."

Hi Leon,

The colours in the sky are beautiful. I like the way you have composed the Palace with the diagonal of the road leading the eye into the frame. There is just enough light to show the architectural details.

We either see this in bright sunlight or in the illuminated form. This a new point of view though the bottom portion may appear a bit dark but at 6.30 that is understandable.

Hi Leon:
Nice picture. The sky has some pretty amazing colors. I know Mysore quite well. I went to Engineering college there. I have many pleasant memories.
