Cow Patties, a photo from Rajasthan, West

Photographer's Note

Cow (and I assume camel & elephant) patties are dried at the side of the road and then, I presume, used for fuel or building materials. Good thing this stuff is valuable, otherwise it would be left on the roads under foot!

You would think there would be a cloud of flies hanging around such places but I didn't see any.

I grabbed this shot from the back of an auto-rickshaw while it was in motion so I couldn't take time to compose the shot.

Interesting story with this photo. Looks like business is good for patties at the moment.

muahahaha, its India's version of the hexamine tablet Mike.
Only bigger , rounder, funkier in smell, ecological ( 'cept for the liberated methane during production ) and you own the factory...

I'd be grabbing patties for my garden. ;) Once they dry, the flies lose interest. This is a neat photo showing something only an outsider would probably even notice.
