Photographer’s Note

This is picture taken in 1990, while touring Rajasthan. It would be difficult to find where exactly I shot it, but I remember that I had asked the driver to stop the minibus when I spotted working people in the fields. It was a dull day, and the hour was late. The light was somehow problematic I would have taken a normal picture. So I thought that taking the working man as a silhouette against the sky would perhaps create
a dramatic effect: At least this is what I had tried
to experience. I know that the picture is slightly grainy, but I believe that it deserves to be posted anyway.

Striking central framing for teh silhoueete, making it look like some iconic logo, though I can't imagine what for. Nice work.

a frozen figure is gorgeous,
against the late-afternoon sky it looks, as richard says, as some symbolic, heroic creature conveying some strong message about human efforts;

Très belle image, me fait penser à une girouette qu'on posait sur les toits autrefoie; pas de volume, juste une silhouette.
On croirait un nid de cigognes.
Vraiment beau.

A fantastic shot with so much subtlity in blending of the BG colour...

An iconic image of the working man Izzet - for all the world it looks like a bronze sculpture but we know it can't be from the grasses he is raking - fantastic capture of this working movement/posture. I'm glad you posted it - it stays in the mind and reminds me of others that have too!
