A young girl seems to be lost in her own world inside the corridors of Ibrahim Roza, one of the most beautiful Islamic structures in India. This beautiful tomb with artistically laid out corridors and interconnecting buildings with richly decorated walls and perforated stone windows, is said to have inspired the Taj Mahal in Agra. While capturing the stone filigree and other sculpturally decorative works, what caught my attention was the look in the girl’s eyes, she seemed oblivious of my presence. I guess she was too young to find anything interesting while her parents were engrossed in the architectural beauty.

You are truly the master of portraits to capture different moods. Not only her face but the colours stand out as well in contrast to her mood.
Berlingo (133) 2006-09-21 12:44

Another great portrait shot. But your note makes me anxious to see the architecture. I am sure it's coming?
plimrn (21344) 2006-09-21 19:24
How nice of this little girl to come with her own light reflector; the bright shirt reflects on her face making the skin tones golden. ...And how smart of you to recognize this golden opportunity. I like the way you mix portraits, landscapes and architechture in your gallery; it gives great depth to the face of India you present to us.
arjun_das (1851) 2006-09-21 22:07
excellent capture of the mood of this little girl. colours are very contrasting too. tfs.

All what you were able to do here with simple elements and light is absolutely beautiful. yes her eyes and expression are very intersting, but the stones together with this yellow shirt and her skin are playing in such an intersting way with light that this is what is capting all my attention here. Superd work again Sabyaschi! Thanks.

Nice portrait. The girl is sad too. But her dress is very bright and attractive. The watch of hers matches the dress. Great shot.
captainsgirl (3448) 2006-09-22 6:15
beautiful little girl, she looks so sad though, would rather be outdoors playing then being in a museum I guess! Love the photo, the colors she is wearing stand out so brightly against the rest of the photo and the frame. TFS

Hi there Sabya,
I se you are almost at 10,000 points! Man, its been quick for you hasnt it? No wonder, you keep coming up with intense work like this. The darks and colors are so "heavy" Id be afraid to pick up the print;)

byrne5012 (41) 2006-09-22 11:25
Sabyasachi, I am totally blown away by this portrait and the majority of the pictures you have posted. The use of shadow is this shot is perfect. the framing is spot on and the way you captured the soul of the young girl is amazing. You have an amazing eye for a great shot and obviously a quick finger becasue in no way does the girl look posed. She is completly natural. This pictures are really an inspiration to all of us beginners to get out there and start clicking. Thank you so much for sharing

Excellent mood and colour tonality.Nice subtle expression as well/
Yesterday I just completed my Ronti Saddle expedition. Hope to show some good ones.
prezntime (3946) 2006-09-22 23:50
What moods you create, or better yet, what ability to capture great moods. Such a distracted downcast mood her eyes convey. It always interests me to think what happens in a childs mind during such times as this. Most probably it is the same thing that adults contemplate when confronted with boredom, sadness or hurt.
The yellow of her outfit stands as a great contrast against the beautiful black background. Her pure skin shines with the superb lighting.
Well done friend,
zokakelt (1157) 2006-09-23 5:07
Very good portrait with great light and colours. Very good composition too.

Cretense (68701) 2006-09-23 8:36
You are the portrait master in TE! This is a very sensitive aproach of the child, although it's rather sad to see such a young kid drowned in its thoughts. Your colours are always magnificent. A dreamy result. Congratulations!
UlfE (14641) 2006-09-23 9:08
A wonderful portrait. A fantastic composition with dark background a the bright yellow shirt of the girl. Very interesting expression of her face. She does not look very happy though.

Polonaise (5802) 2006-09-23 20:29
My friend, Sabyasachi!
You have shamelessly used the unusual beauty of this little girl to create a photo of yours.
Shall I condemn you for it?
Not a bit.
Because...You see...The pretty face is only responsible partly for this charming portrait.
Giving a credit to the sperm of a father and an egg of the mother...
The whole rest of it is...YOU!.
Sabyasachi guy, who really knows 'how to'!
Lovable and enjoyable.
tigra (2968) 2006-09-23 20:32
Great portrait of a little girl!
I think that you're really good in picturing people.
This capture is veru characteristic.
josepmarin (58357) 2006-09-24 6:31
pretty image, you have well caught to this girl framed between stones and standing out with its pretty yellow dress on background really dark.
That lost glance, that it seems a little sad, she is stirring.
I like this photo, my friend, he is tender and adorable.

Cricri (117879) 2006-09-27 8:00
Magnifique portrait de cette petite fille aux yeux rêveur, une douce lumiére qui illumine son visage et fait resortir la couleur jaune de son sweat sur un fond sombre, trés belle photo
aralda (1240) 2006-09-27 15:49
You have a way of getting so close to people; your POV is seemingly already part of their territory and not of the photographer's. I love the way you creep up on this little girl, but "creep up" doesn't say it right because I mean it in a positive way.
Great job, and great how you showcase the yellow color of the girl's shirt,
TeresaT (10806) 2006-09-27 18:33
Great portriat of this little girl.
I like the introspective expression on her face.
The window make a nice frame to the girl and the vibrant yellow tones of her shirt really contrasts with the dark background.
sayan (2617) 2006-09-28 1:46
Sabyasachi, lovely dreamy effect you have managed to get here. The cute child lost in the thought is a treat to watch. The yellow colour is so contrasting. Lovely work. Sharod shubhechchha.
keribar (43841) 2006-09-29 13:16
Decisive moment indeed, not easy to get such a serene expression and to master the fact that light colors may explode when taken against a black background. A picture which is both technically and emotionally perfect.
I wish you a very good week-end - Izzet
prumod (8300) 2006-09-29 13:24
