Photographer's Note
Mystique morning view from Sandakphu.
Sandakphu is the highest point (3611 Meters) at the extreme north of West Bengal and surrounded by an enormous 220 degree panorama of visual angle by Everest group, Kanchenjunga family and many other famous peaks of the Great Eastern Himalayas.
The great mountain Pandim is not high enough to own the honour of an eight thousander scale. But it has its own gorgeous appearance that attracts the eyes.
As you see this early wake-up scene of the Sikkimese great (Pandim range) was captured from Sandakphu, West Bengal.
Oh yes! Pandim is my obsession.

Great shot Dr J.
Not very often a sky is good enough to be the subject, but it sure is here. Great detail and contrast in the clouds. The colors are appealing- did you use a polariser or some sort of filter for the colors?
Nicely captured!

Great shot with an amazing sense of depth. The little bit of foreground and the trees are a very good element in the composition. And the sky is… well it is magnificent. Congratulations.

Hello Dr. Bhunia,
Amazing sky...the colours look like watercolour painting... You are lucky to see so many colour shades!! This is far before sunrise, still, what was the time exactly?

This is really outstanding.
The colours and subtle tonal gradations in the sky are beautiful, and complement the snow capped peaks and mist filled valley perfectly.
Great work.

Hi Dr Bhunia,
The highland is definately an interesting place for photo shoots and this scene is no exception. The clouds create much excitement and the mist along the mountains is most attractive to the eyes. A very well taken shot!! Regards and thanks.

Hello Dr. J,
This is indeed an inspiring view. The trees in the foreground appear sharp, and as the distance recedes one sees the degradation of light, and the appearance of fog; and finally like a curtain these magnificent mountains create a suburb of paradise. There is one suggestion I would make, however, reducing the sky somewhat. If you were to crop the image with a more panoramic aspect ratio, it would accentuate the astonishing beauty of the land. One possibility would be to crop the image 800pixels wide by 494 pixels high, you would have the golden rectangle. Excelent photo in any case! Regards from Virginia, USA

Wow I love this photo DrJ! The clouds and mountains have come together in a most wonderful setting here. Add to that the clouds on the lower part of the frame makes this a real attractive capture. Thanks for sharing!

Hi DrJ Bhunia,
What a lovely photo, gorgeous scene and a lovely sky as addition to it. The quality is great, colours fine. I like the myst below the mountains..and those few trees on the right are also a nice addition to the frame..maybe you could have captured a bit more of them, further very fine!
Greetings.

Hi Bhunia,
Wow! What a view! Mystique is a good adjective for it; others could be "fabulous", "breath taking", "magnificent", "made in heaven".... Those mountains that seem to float above the mist, that strangely coloured sky and those silhouettes of the trees on the fg make an extraordinary image.
By looking only at it is hard to believe that a crop like you did in the WS, following our common TE friend Bülent advice, would put it even nicer.
Congratulations and TFS.
Regards, José.

Quite and interesting and special result of this morning capture J. The coloured sky over the misty landscape of grand mountains is presented like a dream landscape where you use well the details also of the foreground silhouetted trees. Well seen.

Hi DrJ,
I think I found an adjective not employed here yet. It was not an easy task, because this picture is GRANDIOSE! Et voilà! That's it.
I agree with all members who were filled with wonder at this image. It is in my favorites, if you don't mind.

Dear Doctor
What a picture! I am, as if transported to this abode of Gods. Wonderful layers, wonderful muted colours. The trees in the foreground appear sharp, and with distance the sharpness diminishes into the fog & mist. Magical..I am actually short of words to praise the beauty.

This picture deserves two points for the stunning colours alone. There is probably not much that I can add to the 33 critiques above mine, so it will suffice to say that I am thoroughly impressed by this picture.

You've captured some wonderful colours in the sky here, Dr J - I only wish you had angled your camera down just a few degrees so that the foreground is not cut off at the bottom - I think that would have enhanced the effect of the receding layers. Cheers . . . David

Wonderful landscape. Definition is superb.
The purple sky is not my favourite. I have a feeling there is a bit too much filter action going on there! hihihi
Nice layers on top of one another.

You have one awesome collection Dr. J. and an elaborate into. IMO, the picture has too much of sky. I guess keeping the mountains in the center of the picture would be more beautiful. You have been to a remarkable place. I traveled most of southern and western India. never got a chance to go to nor-eastern. Should make it one day.
