Photographer’s Note
PHYANG MONASTERY This monastery is located 6 km away from the Srinagar-Leh highway and 17 km from Leh. Built in the 16th century and belonging to the Red Cap sect and there are 5 monasteries, different idols, and collection of Thunkus. Another attraction of Phyang is its museum. This ancient 900 years old museum has a spectacular collection of Chinese, Tibetan and Mongolian fire arms and weapons. Recently this monastery has been renovated. Few kilometers away is the Phyang Lake. The Phyang festival is quite wellknown in the surrounding areas.

Hi , Chanjit.
Very nice and interesting photo !
I like the composition very much .Tha mountains in the back-ground , the horisontal line of the houses starting at the monastery itself , the lines of green and the rugged foreground .
The colours are very well matched !
my compliments .

Sir,
Your love for the dark clouds and the contours of the mountains is reflective from your gallery rich with landscapes. Its the rugged foreground which attracts me more.
Best Regards,

This is a fantastic photo Chanjit, made even more interesting for me because I am going to Ladakh in a few weeks time. I can't wait.
The scraps of greenery make quite a contrast with the barren rugged landscape, and the monastery is in a superb position on the hill, commanding the valley below. The dark sky gives this a real moody atmosphere.
Cheers,
Ben

What a sky! Dark clouds are so impressing here and in great contrast with this thisty land. Very well composed, colours and shaprness are excellent. Great shot :)

Hi Chanjit,
We can see a picture with three parts, in foreground the stones and a few green trees, middle the Phyang Monastery with a chain of mountains, also the sky with the imminent clouds care for a excellent composition.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice day,
John

A rather desolate landscape Chanjit, with a treathening dark sky, the monastry perfectly placed on the hill with the mountains in the back.
A slight sharpening was still possible, a new method of sharpening in the WS.

Hi Chanjit,
Your photos of Leh has really been very impressive. This one again is no exception. The dark cloud over the sky really has added a silver line in this snap. The valley looks very rough just patches of grass in between, gives an impression of Rajasthan to me.Good color and contrast has added mood to this snap.
TFS,
Dhurjati
