The town of Kanniyakumari is located at the southest point in mainland India. Here you can see how the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean merge their waters.
The seashore Kumari Amman Temple, the Gandhi Mandapam and the Vivekananda Memorial are the 3 big sites which are visited by the hundreds of pilgrims which visit the town during the day.
Both the sunrises and sunsets in Kanniyakumari are second to none, especially during the full moon of April when you can see both the sun and moon in the horizon.
The shot of this man was taken in a near by temple in Suchimdram village.

The face of the man is incredible! And what a look!
I like the blue and white colors too, and your fine use of the DOF.
bravo et merci.

This man looks very serious and I hope he liked the portrait .
However I find the blue and the stick above him a bit distracting .
Otherwise a great portraits well positioned and framed .

You say "the shot of this little girl was taken in the fishing village"...Am I wrong or you made amistake, 'cause all I see is a very old man with beard! ahahah..
Anyway, the portrait is very good. The expression you caught is nice, the DOF excellent and the framing perfect :)
