Intriguing picture, the curve, the light and ahead it's dark. It tells a story. TFS

Hello Salil Da,
I have been a very recent member on TE and this is the first time I have come across your post. To say that it is truly amazing is like saying that the Taj is very beautiful. I can see that you had planned this composition in advance and as you will soon know through the critiques that will pour in, the wait for the cyclist was truly worth it.
I won't go into the techinicalities since I am not qualified enough, but this image has left me spellbound.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Salil!
... strange...really a strange image! Almost an unreal atmosphere! A perfect timig capturing the silhouette of the man on the bicycle just before the spotlight! The curving road gives a strong sensation of distortion...very interesting!
The B/W convertion enhance very well the "out of real" feeling, an inspired choice!!! Very well done! Something really different!
Congratulations!
elements of eternality and surreal atmosphere makes this shot special. fantastic silhouettes and good composition, beyond barriers of time and space. nice distortion with the wide lens.

Bonjour Salil,
great shot! I love it!
It remains me an old movie (1955): "The Night of the Hunter", of Charles Laughton, with a very dark, strange, and hallucinating black and white atmosphere.
Bravo et merci.
Christian
salilda,
great framing, undoubtedly one of your best works. great composition , theme and the mood of this photo is like a chapter from bibhutibhushan's novel. good texture and good light management.
ahh!! nice shot!u have done well to keep it in B/W frame.
Well done!!
whoa
very interesting use of what I presume to be the fisheye lens you used for this shot.
i love the drama that you seem to have captured in this photo ... cheers ... sarju
A really great shot, so simple and yet so effective. The b&w works perfectly.

It seems I missed a few of your uploads. I like this one a lot. The extreme wide has worked wonders on the composition. Do you still have the lens and the camera? It is supposed to be a very sharp lens, and of course K1000 is legendary.
Several things about the scanning and post-procesing. How did you render the colored slide into B/W? Did you just convert it to gray-scale image or did a straight desaturation? If you did so, you have probably not achieved the optimal effect, even with this silhuette where such subtle tonal differences might not be as important (but could be and there is no need to lose them if they exist on the print). This is because different colors of the same luminosity would convert to b/w with the same tone. So you will need to use selective desaturation or channel mixing to achieve the best contrast and tonal range. Here are two websites [1,2] that should give you some clue. The second site is particularly useful because it gives you the basics so you can use any image processing software, not just Photoshop.
Hello Salil da,
I missed your recent uploads, and I particularly miss this one. Wonderful composition with a fish eye view. I like it a lot. Seems like a painting of high quality!
Best regards,

What a powerful capture! Congratulations
Hi Salil:
Your composition drawn my attention and I am glad to discover your album.
I wished this shot has more sharpness, then I asked myself "why not leave the way it is as long as it works in your mind and in your heart?"
Thank you for your contribution,
Regards,
Thanh
Hi Salil,
je viens de découvrir cette photo, j'aime beaucoup ici cette prise de vue avec ce vélo qui se découpe en ombre "chinoise" sur le seul endroit clair de la photo - très chouette -
best regards
daniel
