I took this five years ago with a bog standard SLR and slide film. It was in Hemis Monastery, I think, up in Ladakh (Little Tibet). On my first visit, something happened to my camera, like running out of film, so I returned again at the end of a trek, just to listen to this old man chanting. Imagine an elongated room, a monk at one end, reciting mantras, occasionally knocking on the gong in front of him, and a long line of tourists, backs propped up against the wall, sitting intently in silence. Listening.
I especially liked the low lighting in the room, and the way the sunlight gleaned through the window. Had to increase saturation and lighten up the image a bit, although I also really like the dark version.
